About STEM Canada

STEM Canada is a registered non-profit global program that specializes in providing advanced STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education courses that emphasize the interrelatedness of these subjects. The STEM program is open to all students from kindergarten to high school , and its mission is to provide top-level STEM literacy and applied education aimed at fostering global competitiveness.

 

Volunteer Position Overview

The Human Anatomy and Physiology Teaching Assistant will support faculty in teaching undergraduate anatomy and physiology courses, conducting laboratory courses, and assisting students in learning course material.

Main Responsibilities

 Conduct and supervise human anatomy and physiology laboratory courses

Assist teachers in teaching courses and related experimental classes

 Prepare equipment and materials for specific experiments

Marking assignments, lab reports and exams

 Regular office hours are offered to assist students

 Maintaining a safe and clean laboratory

Assist in the preparation of course materials and lab exercises

Volunteer Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in biology, anatomy, physiology or related field; Master's degree preferred

Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Teaching or tutoring experience is preferred

Ability to explain complex concepts clearly to students from all backgrounds

Proficiency in the use of laboratory equipment and anatomical models

Understand laboratory safety procedures
