Doors Open Recruitment Session

Volunteer with the City of Toronto

"Doors Open" is an open house event in Toronto that invites the public to explore the city's buildings that are normally closed to the public for free. The Open Day series also includes tours, lecture series, concerts and other special programs. Volunteers are recruited for each year's event and are open to all current high school students , with recruitment sessions including informative presentations and short interviews. As a volunteer partner of the municipal government, Yingshi Education hopes that students will actively participate in high-quality volunteer activities. Yingshi teachers will lead everyone in interview training and the implementation of specific activities!

2024 Theme: Hidden History

Beneath the streets, behind closed doors, and in our own backyards, there is another Toronto; a city full of hidden history. From ancient Aboriginal footprints along the shoreline of glacial Lake Iroquois to lost rivers to Canada’s oldest surviving queer space, Toronto’s story is told through its many pasts and voices. At Open House Toronto 2024, visitors will engage with forgotten or often overlooked Toronto locations and stories.
