"Doors Open" is an open house event in Toronto that invites the public to explore the city's buildings that are normally closed to the public for free. The Open Day series also includes tours, lecture series, concerts and other special programs. Volunteers are recruited for each year's event and are open to all current high school students , with recruitment sessions including informative presentations and short interviews. As a volunteer partner of the municipal government, Yingshi Education hopes that students will actively participate in high-quality volunteer activities. Yingshi teachers will lead everyone in interview training and the implementation of specific activities!

Information Ambassadors provide frontline, high-quality customer service to festival visitors. They are friendly ambassadors who keep everyone informed. Primary responsibilities include helping patrons navigate events, handing out informational materials, answering questions and giving directions. This position is ideal for a friendly person with good communication skills and high energy who wants to interact with customers.

Program Coordinators provide event participants (i.e. the public) with unique and diverse assistance in how they interact with art, theatre, music or architectural projects. Responsibilities include ensuring that participants have the appropriate tools and information to interact with the project. This position is ideal for a friendly individual who wants to interact with participants, as well as gain hands-on experience on a project.

Guides use (scripted) narration to lead groups through the building during Open House Toronto. Responsibilities include liaising with construction staff, understanding script facts, and reading all information provided. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with large groups and has some tour guide experience. This position requires experienced volunteers and a resume is required.

The Volunteer Captain is responsible for overseeing all volunteer activities at assigned locations. Responsibilities include managing schedules, facilitating tasks, and communicating between volunteers and staff. They ensure volunteers have a positive experience at the festival. This position is ideal for someone who has excellent personal and organizational skills, is highly reliable, is committed to volunteer work and is a good problem solver. This leadership position is only open to individuals who have done at least two years of volunteer work with City of Toronto cultural events or have demonstrated equivalent experience in another organization. This position requires experienced volunteers and a resume is required.
