Q : You teach a lot of university application subjects in Uforse Education, which one is your favorite to teach and why?
You teach many university applied subjects at UCI, which one is your favourite? Why?
My personal favorite university application subject to teach is for Rotman. Other than obvious reasons of me being a student myself, I appreciate the various types of questions Rotman presents. I believe that every application, both in the written and spoken form, needs to tell a story about who you are and what kind of skills you have. The Rotman application asks questions that highlight this, and although it is difficult, I have seen my students grow the most through this application process. My favorite teaching is the college application for the Rotman School of Business. First, because I'm a Rotman student myself, and second, I really appreciate the various questions students ask about Rotman. I believe that both the paperwork and the interview part need to tell a story about who you are and what skills you have . The Rotman School of Business has some ways of highlighting this issue, and while it's difficult, in past application coaching I've seen my students make great progress in this application process.
Q : What are the most common questions you see when writing as an international student in a supplemental application to a university?
What is the most common problem you see on International students when they are writing supplementary applications for universities?
One common problem that I notice among students is that they tend to include unnecessary information within their applications just to fill the word count. The word count that each school provides is the space for students to fully elaborate on their experiences and express themselves to the best of their abilities. Thus, including 'fluff', or irrelevant information takes away from the storytelling aspect of the application. A common problem I've noticed among students is that they tend to generalize a lot of unnecessary information just to fill the word count. Regarding the word limit, what each school provides is space for students to fully articulate, experience and express themselves to the best of their ability. Therefore, a lot of redundant and irrelevant information can be detrimental to your "story" presentation. Q : What is your suggestion to your students on improving their video interview skills? What advice do you have for students to improve their video interviewing skills?I often see students lack confidence during video interviews. I notice they tend to doubt their existing skills and abilities, which often leads to hesitation. I think students should trust themselves and know that with practice they are more than capable of successfully completing the interview with confidence! Q : University application season is starting, any other advice on how to do well in the
supplementary applications? College application season has begun, any other advice on how to get good grades with supplementary materials in college?
Like I mentioned before, confidence is key to everything! One additional advice I would give is to read over your essays with time in between. Go for a nice walk, refresh your mind, then read over your writing. This can decrease stress and make it easier for you to spot mistakes and make better edits. As I mentioned before, confidence is the key to everything! Another piece of advice I would make is to take a walk after writing your paperwork, relax and read your paperwork. This reduces stress and makes it easier for you to spot bugs and make better revisions.
Q : Anything you want to share about your university program? (Or university life, work life)
Any information about university courses? (Or college life, work life) Is there anything you can share with your classmates?
Rotman is definitely busy, and it is difficult to keep up with many extra-curriculars, work, and school at the same time. However, if you are eager, there are many activities to take part of and you will never be bored! I also love the community of students and faculty members at the University of Toronto.
Studying at Rotman Business School must be busy and it can be difficult to keep up with the many extracurricular activities. However, if you want to participate in extracurricular activities, you can do as many activities as you can, many of them are very interesting! I also really enjoyed spending time with fellow U of T students and members of the U of T faculty community!
Q : What else do you want to say to your students who are applying to universities this year?

I wish everyone the best of luck! Everything happens for a reason, and regardless of the results I guarantee that your efforts will be worth while.
Good luck everyone! Everything happens for a reason, and whatever the outcome, I can guarantee that the effort will be worth it.

The Rotman School of Business clerical reviewer said this: “If applicants have a really amazing supplemental, [with grades] a little bit lower than the cut-off, we would have another look at them and discuss them,” “Conversely, we could have students with a really high average and not good supplementals, and refuse them. Students have to have both." - Jeffery TrappThat is to say, if your grades are a little worse, but your supporting materials (essays, video interviews, etc. are very good, then you may be admitted, and on the contrary, even if your GPA is high, but the essays are very poor then may be rejected.) In 2020, Rotman Business School has increased the difficulty of paper and video interviews. In the past, there were 3 questions, but in 2020, it became 5 questions.
No matter which top business school you want to apply to, essays and interviews are the steps you need to prepare carefully! It is also a top priority!
