Toronto Museum of History Youth Volunteer
If you are a high school student aged 14 to 18 , love history and culture, and want to contribute to the community through volunteer service, then the Toronto History Museum's Youth Volunteer Program is definitely not to be missed! This program provides young people with an opportunity to combine history and culture, not only to learn new skills, but also to contribute to various projects at the museum.
Volunteer Location
The Toronto History Museum brings together 10 historical sites across the city:

Volunteer Type
Special Events
At special events, volunteers will be responsible for welcoming visitors, leading activities, and assisting staff with setting up stations. You will also be involved in event set-up and clean-up. Specific duties will vary from event to event to ensure that every event is fresh and new.
"Weekly Program"
Weekly volunteer activities will allow you to develop new skills in practice while interacting with your peers and deepening your understanding and connection to the community. Different activities and themes change with the seasons, and young volunteers have the opportunity to interact directly with the public, contribute their own efforts to activate museum spaces, and assist in the development of museum programs.
Summer Camp
If you participate in the summer camp program, you will have the opportunity to interact with campers and assist staff in organizing activities, setting up venues, and cleaning up. To ensure the safety of all volunteers, museum staff will conduct mandatory vulnerable group screening for volunteers and require them to complete additional camp-specific training.
Special Projects
In addition to regular volunteer activities, you can also choose to participate in other volunteer projects in person or online, contribute ideas to the museum's exhibitions, take on leadership roles in the community, and more.
Time Commitment
In order to ensure that volunteers can adapt to the work content, we will provide each volunteer with two hours of training. In terms of time arrangement, volunteers' shifts are usually arranged on weekends, school holidays, some evenings and summer weekdays, and the shift selection is flexible. There is currently no minimum time commitment, you can participate according to your own schedule.
