The program provides an opportunity for groups of students to gain leadership skills, work on projects of their own choosing, and gain valuable post-secondary experience and volunteer time.

You need to do

1. Identify a need/problem in your community and organize a project to address that need/problem. You will receive a grant of up to $500 (or more, depending on the details of your project) to fund your project.

For example:

hosting basketball tournaments to bring young people together and promote physical activity;

Host a video game night to help others de-stress;

opening community libraries to encourage reading;

(Or you can do anything else you can think of)








2. Learn through different workshops and one-on-one coaching to help you plan your projects and gain useful skills (e.g. project planning, budgeting, etc.).

What you will get

1. Develop project management skills

2. Get volunteer time

3. Obtain a certificate of recognition and a letter of recommendation

4. Learn and/or improve your skills (e.g. identifying community issues, budgeting, marketing, public speaking, evaluation)
