Umoja Orchestra is a Gainesville, Florida-based band whose music combines elements of Afrobeats, jazz, funk, Afro-Cuban music, and traditional African, Caribbean, and South American styles such as salsa and merengue. The band's instrumentation is very similar to that of bands such as Fela Kuti's Africa 70 and the Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra.

Volunteer Responsibilities

√ Ensure crowd management during live music performances during 8-hour shifts.

√ Collect and dispose of debris in designated areas on the street

√ Assist with band formation and dismantling

√ Promotional materials

√ Follow the safety guidelines and instructions provided by the event coordinator

Volunteer Requirements

√ Must be 18 years of age or older / Under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a guardian

√ Physical ability to walk, bend, and lift light to moderate weights

√ Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions

√ Strong commitment to environmental stewardship and community service
