Volunteer Toronto is Canada's largest volunteer hub, connecting volunteers with organizations that need them. We also provide training to organizations that need volunteers, helping them run successful volunteer programs.
What do volunteers need to do?
Volunteer Toronto is looking for Volunteer Advisors to help individuals understand the volunteering process and find the right volunteer opportunities. As a Volunteer Advisor, you will help students, new immigrants, professionals, and retirees through video appointments to guide them on how to get started in their volunteering journey .
Main Responsibilities:
Communicate with volunteer applicants via Zoom video
Respond to emails promptly
Answers to frequently asked questions about volunteering and guidance on how to navigate our website
Track information and maintain electronic communication logs
Attend monthly online meetings with the advisory team (Zoom)
Volunteer Position Requirements
Friendly and helpful
Ability to connect remotely during shift, with computer and internet access
Familiar with the Zoom platform and able to host meetings and admit participants
Good oral and written communication skills in English
Familiar with MS Office and other new technologies
Time Commitment:
- Provide one 2-hour remote shift per week.
- Attend monthly advisory team review meetings on the last Monday of each month from 5-6pm.
Onboarding training:
We will be providing remote training via Zoom to help new consultants understand workflow, tracking and technology applications, and gain a deeper understanding of Volunteer Toronto’s mission and services. Training date to be determined.

How to Apply:
Students who are interested in this position, please fill out the volunteer application form before 4 pm on September 26 (Thursday).
We will conduct interviews in the last week of September , and the specific date and time will be notified to volunteer candidates after confirmation. All applicants will receive a response by September 30th .
