RBC Summer Technology Lab Project, High-quality Background Improvement for Engineering Computer Majors

Event Description The RBC Summer Tech Lab Program is an eight-week ( July 2 to August 21, 2024 ) paid internship opportunity for students in grades 11 and 12 .

Throughout the summer, students will work in small groups to advance their technical and career skills while solving three real-world challenges facing RBC. Students will gain valuable knowledge and experience through workshops, mentoring, and hands-on practice deploying code into the RBC environment.

What will you do?

1. Design, develop and test a prototype for a business unit at RBC.

2. Build proof of concepts and prototypes using new technologies (e.g. JavaScript, Github, REACT.js, etc.).

3. Work with business users and senior leaders to gather requirements and brainstorm ideas.

4. Learn how to come up with solutions and generate creative ideas.

Registration requirements:

1. Currently attending high school in Ontario with a passion for computer science, engineering, or entrepreneurship .

2. Master one or more programming languages .

3. Experience in applying technical concepts or coding (participation in hackathons, clubs, technology-focused projects, etc.).

4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).

5. Strong desire to work in a team and be willing to collaborate to produce solutions.

6. Self-driven person with creative and analytical thinking who can work in a fast-paced environment.

7. Master MS Office skills - Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
